Intro to Crimes
Alot of noobs tend to be lost when it comes to what crimes they should be doing and when. In this guide I will break down what crimes are best for starting out as well as all throughout your gameplay.
NOTE: Crimes are not an overnight thing. This is a serious process to get to the top. Building your NNB (Natural Nerve Bar) will take time. Quite frankly you most likely wont even come close to completing this guide in the next few years. Keep in mind the more active you are the more you will progress.
So lets start out with the basics. Obviously you need nerve to commit crimes, your NNB (Natural Nerve Bar: Your max amount of nerve to be stored less any perks from merits, faction, and other boosts in the game.) starts out at 15. Over time you can increase this to a max of 60 NNB. You increse this bar by successfuly commiting crimes, when you fail a crime and get put in jail you lose Crime XP (A hidden stat). The higher your NNB the more successful you are at commiting crimes. When you fail a crime you either get sent to jail or you get some random reason why the crime didn't pan out. If you get sent to jail then you will lose Crime XP in the amount that equals up to 20x the amount of 1 successful crime up to a max of 1% of your total Crime XP. If you weren't sent to jail and you get a blue banner then you lose nothing or gain nothing, same goes for the hospital. With this huge loss compaired to so little gain it is important to do crimes that you are more likely to succeed in. So lets break those down right after we cover the basic requirements in this next section.
Requirements
There are requirements to do specific crimes. Here are those requirements broken down. You can see the items and the live market values of those items below.
- Drivers License
- This can be obtained by completing the Education Course "Driving License" in General Studies. You will have to complete "Intro to General Studies" first.
- Gas Can Current Market Value
- Obtainable from the Item Market in the category Miscellaneous. This is a requirement for the Arson crimes.
- Any Gun
- Also obtainable from the Item Market, any gun will do. This is required for armed robberies.
- Coat Hanger Current Market Value
- Obtainable from the Item Market in the category Miscellaneous. This is a requirement for Auto Theft crimes.
- Computer / Laptop Current Market Value
- Obtainable from the Item Market in the category Electronics. These are a requirement for Planting Computer Virus crimes.
- Viruses Current Market Value
- Obtainable by coding them (if you compled the EDU courses) or from the Item Market in the category Viruses. These are a requirement for Planting Computer Virus crimes.

Enhancers
Additionaly there is the option to use Enhancers. These are obtainable items that improve your success rate for specific crimes. These must stay in your inventory in order to get the bonus. Each crime has a chance of success, you will want to do the crimes that have the higher chance rate according to how much Crime XP you have (this is hidden so we should take our best guess). By the time you get to about 10,000 Arson - Warehouse crimes completed you should have a NNB (Natural Nerve Bar) of 40. You should also have picked up a ton of merits throughout your journey so far. Keep going to complete the 13,400 Arsons to get the rest of the merits available and reach a NNB of 50.
The reason for doing such a low crime at this point is to gain the associated merits.

At this point you should have not only maxxed your NNB but also achieved all the crime merits. But let's be honest if you have gotten this far it's the year 2070 and we are all recovering from 2 decades underground due to the nuclear war. :P
