First Things First
Torn is a vast world to take all in at first. With everything available and the huge amount of content achievable it can be extremely overwhelming when starting out. In this multi section starting out guide I will highlight what I believe to be the most important things a noob such as yourself should do to start your massive journey throughout Torn City.
NOTE: It's important to know that in this game you will never wake up rich unless you win the lottery. This game is all about time and commitment. Play daily even if it's for an hour each day.
Making Money
One of the easiest ways to make money is by visiting the city shops and buying items from them at dirt cheap prices and then selling them on the Item Market for a huge profit. There are a lot of items that you want to stay away from as they sell on the item market for less than what you pay for them in the city shop.
As you now know items aren't just for sale from NPCs, the Item Market as I mentioned above where you would sell items from city shops to other players is also a great place to make a profit. After saving a couple million invest in items that move quickly and that players tend to post randomly priced lower than others. Take advantage of the buy low sell high theory here and you could turn a profit making millions a day just reselling much like I do myself.
Another way of obtaining items to sell on the item market is by doing crimes that give you items on successful attempts. Read on to learn more about crimes as that is the next steady activity you will want to be consistant with in order to steadily progress in your crime xp and level.
Yet another way of making money is by selling losses. This is when someone pays you to attack them and you lose on purpose so they get the defend. This is popular amongst merit hunters. To sell losses you need energy and meds. It varies on how much players pay for losses but it's usually somewhere in the range of 200k - 350k sometimes more per loss. I will cover more of this in my guide when it's released.
Crimes
Crimes are a great way to start out your Torn Enterprise. They provide items and cash depending on the crime and you can do them all throughout the day periodically as your nerve bar fills back up. You will want to try and be as consistant as you can when it comes to crimes to get the most out of leveling and crime xp gain. With the most recent update of Crimes 2.0 everything has changed. Crimes 2.0 is still in developement as of right now and I am currently working on a new up to date guide for Crimes 2.0. If you have not made the switch yet and still use the old crimes system you can see a more in depth guide here to help you with your NNB and crimes. There are also more guides for crime and many other things on my guides page.
NOTE: You will want to work on your General Studies Education class to obtain your Drivers License ASAP as you will need it to do specific crimes not to long from now that will yield the best results in XP gain.
Battle Stats and Gym Gains
Your Battle Stats are one of the most important things to take care in making sure you gain as much as you can as fast as you can so you will become that wilderbeast that no one wants to mess with. Battle Stats are trained at the Gym. Training uses energy, 5 per train to start. As you gather gym XP you will unlock better gyms with higher multipliers for stat gains. Use as much energy as you can as often as you can. Eventually you'll wanna save up enough money to do a Happy Jump which I will cover next.
Happy Jumps are another way to boost your Battle Stats but they can get expensive. Happy Jumps highly boost your gym gains if done properly. A Happy Jump costs roughly 19 Million on average for the best result as well as it costs 25 points because of the refill you use at the end for that one last boost. You can see this guide to perform a Happy Jump for when you are able to afford it. Or alternatively there is a choco version of a happy jump aimed more towards lower levels that don't have much cash. You can find that one here.
Conclusion
These are the bare esentials to starting out and making money, follow this road to level 15 and then you open up a whole new world in which it's much easier to make millions of dollars by traveling. You will find almost everything if not everything you need to know in all areas of this site. Take the time to look around even if you aren't ready for most of it yet. It never hurts to get a headstart on knowledge.
